9. BRING COLOR TO MY SCARS

My morning seems to be nice today.

I dream of the girl.

She was so close to me.

Heat surges everywhere.

Producing friction.

And I held her.

All too close that it seems like a reality.

I open my eyes, finding the shutters are close, a weird smell, and the cold temperature seems to warm up.

I felt something moving in my legs.  I look at my side and found her naked shoulder. I peek inside the blanket and found us naked. I feel myself heating up, her chest moves in mine, and I feel stiff. That was when I realize my whole body seems painful, like my arms and legs, and a pressure from my hips and thighs.

I move away from her carefully, trying not to wake her up.

I took my pants from the floor and wore them back, heading my way to the bathroom.

My eyes locks in mine. Feeling this somewhat heavy burden inside of me. That strange guilt that I seem to have a pleasure on. I fucked on her. And my virginity is with her.

Someone who I don’t actually know.

I washed my face and head out, finding my phone vibrate in the coffee table.

“Hey. How are you man. No one’s opening the door. I kept knocking about an hour and a half ago. Is something wrong?” Gus was on the phone.

“No I’m fine. I just got a fever.” I grumble and I head in the kitchen.

“A fever? What did you do anyway?”

“Nothing. But she bought me some medicine.” I say as I took the tray of eggs.

“You don’t drink medicine.” Gus says almost unsure of it.

“She forced me.” I say while I took some flour.

“Forced you?! How?”

“Like letting a sleeping person drink water.” I say while cracking some eggs.

“Oh god.” Gus breathes. “Did you—”

“Probably an accident.” I shrug.

Gus laughs on the phone for a while.

“Not funny actually.” I say while whisking the batter.

“Come on, let’s go to the coffee shop. I’ll treat you man.”

“For what?”

“Losing your virginity.” I spill a few batter in the floor.

“Go fuck yourself.”

“Hey, it’s better  that way than losing it to Ms. Red Lady.”

“Still, go fuck yourself.”

“I’m coming there, okay?”

“Shut up.”

“Hey, hey, did you cum?”

“I don’t remember a thing, Gus. Now, let me work on my breakfast.” And I ended the call.

She came out of my room wearing just my sweater.

She looked dazed looking from left to right squinting her eyes and turns her head at me. It was as if her got slapped in both cheeks, her eyes widening.

“I-I’m sorry. I can’t see my clothes.” She says blushing.

“I placed them at the hamper.” I say looking at her.

Her hair is beautifully unruly and her skin seems to glow in this snowy day.

“Eat with me.” I say.

She nods and she walks her way here. A really weird walk.

“Is it your first?” I ask as she sat.

She tucks her head down and blush. “Y-yes.”

“It’s my first too.”

She looks at me with her green eyes wide, surprise.

“Eat, Alice.” I reminded her.

She slices the waffle with the fork and forks it up, opening her mouth in a small way and eats the waffle. Her cheeks are flustered.

“Are you cold?” I ask her.

She puts her fork down, smiles and rub her hands together and shook her head. “I’m fine, really.”

“No you’re not. Look at yourself, you’re freezing to death.” I stood up from where I sat and turn the heater up.

“Do you feel fine?” I ask. Taking both of my hands and let her place down her fork, pressing her both hands together, I cup them and breathe there warming her freezing hands, I felt her stiffen and feeling awkward. I look at her, her eyes wasn’t looking at me yet her cheek looks warm with her cheeks rosy and natural, she pursed her lips. Taking my hand off her I went to my chair, staring in front of her.

She nods and smiles. “Thank you.”

“No need to thank me.” I say as I got back from my seat.

Each time she eats I look at her, making her look so conscious of herself. She’s adorable that way. After eating her breakfast, she wipes her mouth with the napkin at the table and looks at me, often looks away and her cheeks still flustered.

“W-why look at me while I eat?”

“Because I never had the chance to look at you this long until I had the chance to somehow tell you how I actually feel about you.”

Her body gone stiff and all she could do was look at me like a doll could look at her buyer, pleading to buy her.

I silently laugh from my really off line. “Never mind what I said. I should get going, Gus is expecting me.” I stood from my seat, walk towards her and kiss her crown. “I’ll be back by six.”

>Golden Café and Resto Bar<

“How was it?” Gus asks the moment he saw me.

“Shut up.” I say as I sat.

“Hey, I’m a concerned best friend. It might be best if you could tell me all the juicy parts if you know what I mean.” Gus grins devilishly.

“I told you, I couldn’t remember a thing.”

The waitress approaches us, smiling warmly from this cold weather we have. “What can I get you two?”

“You.” Gus grins.

“I’am not part of the order, sir.” The waitress laughs.

“Then I’ll make a special request for you to be part of my order.”

It was really a good thing that he was across from me. I kicked one of the legs in his chair. Almost falling him over.

The waitress laughs.

“I’m sorry for my friend’s behavior. He hasn’t had any affairs the past few days.” I explain.

The waitress looks at me warmly. Her eyes is melting in this cold weather.

“Why do you always get the girls?” Gus mutters too low that I almost didn’t heard it.

“What can I get you, sir?” The waitress asks.

“I’ll get nicely brewed coffee, please.”

“Anything else sir?” She says writing it down on her pad.

“You can ask my friend over here. He’s the one who’s treating me.”

The waitress looks at Gus with a tight smile.

“A frappoucino.” Gus says blandly.

And the waitress walks away.

Gus kicks the leg of my chair almost falling me over. “Thanks for backing me up, asshole.”

I laugh. “Stop being such a philanderer, Gus.”

“I wear the name of a gigolo proudly.” Gus grins.

“Well, you have a shitty life.”

“Just like your life. It’s full of shit.”

“I’ve gone through worst.” I look away.

Gus laughs. “Hey I’m kidding man. Don’t be so serious.”

“Why want me here anyway?”

“I summarize every girl possible for Mr. Mc’Brinewood’s daughter.” Gus says pulling out a small rolled paper from his coat pocket and slides it in the table. I took it and unroll the paper.

Diana Alice Weidersehen

Alexandra Dove

Anabeth Steele

Andrea Nicole Garcia

Ashley Jensen

“Why is her name here?” I ask.

“Uh… she goes to that school? besides, I told you, those are the names that could just possibly be Mr. Mc’Brinewood’s daughter. So we still really don’t know if she is the one we’re looking for or not. Don’t get so worked up.”

“Still. How about that orphaned president?”

“Did the information you’ve gathered just leaked from your brain after you got sick and had your first sex? She’s the batch after Alice’s batch. You threw them all away from the waste box.”

“I didn’t threw them. I just placed them in an empty box.” I say blandly.

“She barely even look like the President.”

“So you’re telling me that Alice looks like Mr. Mc’Brinewood?”

“I’m not saying that it’s just possibilities, Seven.”

I took a long sigh and place the paper in my pocket.

The waitress came back with our orders.

“Anything you like to add up sir?” The waitress asks Gus.

“Two blueberry muffins, please.”

The waitress nods and left us. Just in time for my phone to ring.

“Tell me every juicy details!” Becca just called.

“What is it about?”

“Don’t play dummy dad. I just went to visit your girlfriend. And from the way she’s so dazed and her walk. I knew you two did something.”

“What if we really did?”

Silence replaced her blabberring mouth.

“Becca are you still there?”

Silence

“Becca, I’m going to hung up now.”

“Wait wait wait wait. So you…”

“Yes, Becca we really did.”

“OH MY HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THE WHORES!!!”

“Watch your tone, Becca.” I reminded her.

“Let’s celebrate dad. I’ll treat you.”

I took a sigh. “Gus is already treating me. Why wont you treat her instead?”

“She wont come with me.” Her tone seems to sadden, and I could imagine her pouting.

“Tell her I’m allowing you two to go somewhere together.”

“Okay!” She sang. “See you tonight dad.”

And the call ended.

“What was that about?” Gus asks.

“They have their own celebration.”

>President’s House<

“It’s been a while since I saw you Detective Lives.” Dr. Wheisson says greeting the two of us with sweating hands.

“Well, my partner and I have been looking for the girl in the school Mr. President always visits.”

“Any progress in your work?”

I handed him out the copy of the remaining girls to be suspected.

Dr. Wheisson adjusts his glasses and look at each of the names given in the paper. “Do you have the girls’ pictures?”

I look at Gus and Gus just shrugs.

“It seems like we don’t have it right now. But tomorrow we will come back here for you to see them.”

“Great.” Dr. Wheisson smiles. “Oh, while you were gone, we finally opened the vault in the lost daughter’s room.”

“Can we see?” I ask.

“Of course, of course.” Dr. Wheisson nods and gestures. “Please come with me.”

We were led to this built tent just outside the mansion. It’s blue and could almost fit the group of workers here. As we got in, there lay a table and on top of it was an empty vault. The vault was open with some ax making a horrible metal scrapes  at its center. The things that was inside the vault was spread out of the table under each object has a corresponding number. We looked at the table and I noticed some papers. What really caught my attention was the birth certificate.

Alexandra Marie Mc’Brinewood

I look at Gus and he nods grimly.

We look at the other things lying at the table and found stacks of baby clothes sorted through the way of it’s use. The baby book that has yellow edges and some dog ears inside of a zip-lock. A pink ribbon that must have been the last thing she’s worn before she got lost. A pair of shiny pink shoes, baby bracelets, first nail cuts, first hair cut, even that thing in the navel that will be remove in a matter of months. And lastly was a few photos of the baby girl.

The girl has beautiful brunette curls, green eyes, a smile that could make you want to smile back, how amazingly contagious her little smile is. A bright face and a mole at her right cheek.

“Can we picture this?” I ask one of the crew.

“Oh, please do. It wouldn’t be a trouble.”

Gus and I took a picture of the baby pic. “Remind me to get the pictures when we get home.”

We left the makeshift tent and went inside the mansion. It was as if no one is investigating the whole mansion, all the object inside the mansion is still in the same position, as if no one is clamoring everything inside. Gus and I went up and found the locked guest room.

“Do you have a card with you?” I ask lending out my open hand.

Gus rummages through his wallet and found an old card. “Try not to break it.” He grins.

“Sure I’ll break it.” I murmur as I took it away from him and use it to unlock the door.

The door creaks open.

What greeted us inside is the dust filled room that doesn’t seem to fit in the atmosphere of the mansion.

“Rummage through some things.” I told him.

He went by the bed side and I went to the vanity drawer. Opening the drawers, touching the inside and above the drawers. Each of them. At the center drawer, I found a newspaper that dates back 20 years ago. But what took me by surprise was the headline.
